For the third consecutive year, Eye of the Tiger presented a gala at the Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau. This time, local favorite Alexandre Gaumont (12-0, 8 KOs) had the honor of headlining the event with an eight-round fight. He faced Uruguayan veteran Andrés Viera (12-9, 9 KOs), giving Gaumont a chance to silence critics following his controversial victory in his last bout.

In the main event, in front of an electrified crowd, Alexandre Gaumont stepped into the ring with a firm intention to please his fans—and he delivered. In the second round, he knocked out Viera with a perfect right-hand punch, securing his 12th career win and his first as the main attraction of the gala.

In the co-main event, Arthur Biyarslanov (17-0, 14 KOs), nicknamed "The Wolf," defended his NABF super lightweight title after his quick victory on September 5. He faced Argentine southpaw Jonathan Jose Eniz (35-21-1, 16 KOs), who returned to the Casino Lac-Leamy after first appearing there in 2022 against Steve Claggett. True to his reputation, the Argentine showed great resilience against Biyarslanov’s power. Despite tough opposition, “The Wolf” won by a wide unanimous decision (100-90 x 2, 99-91).

Steve Claggett (39-8-2, 26 KOs), seeking to reclaim his spot on the world stage after his defeat to Teofimo Lopez last June, made his comeback in a 10-round fight against Eduardo Estela (16-4, 11 KOs). True to his style, Claggett immediately put pressure on his opponent, knocking Estela down three times before the referee stepped in to stop the fight in the 4th round.

Mehmet Unal (11-0, 9 KOs) fought his second 10-round bout against German Armenak Hovhannisyan (14-5-1, 6 KOs). Unal dominated, winning by TKO in the 3rd round.

Luis Santana (13-0, 6 KOs) faced the toughest challenge of his career against Argentine Sebastian Ezequiel Aguirre (19-6, 12 KOs) in an eight-round fight. Aguirre surprised Santana in the first round, knocking him down twice. But the Quebecer quickly recovered, knocking Aguirre down at the end of the round. The rest of the fight favored Santana, who dominated the exchanges. The judges’ scorecards went in favor of Santana (78-73 x 2, 78-72).

Other Results of the Night:

  • Shamil Khataev (13-0-1, 4 KOs) knocked out Cristian Rafael Coria (30-11-2, 14 KOs) in the 3rd round.
  • Pascal Villeneuve (5-2-1, 2 KOs) defeated Rafel Sosa Pintos (63-20, 25 KOs) by unanimous decision (40-36 x 3).
  • Moreno Fendero (8-0, 6 KOs) beat Pavel Albrecht (19-27, 14 KOs) by TKO in the 1st round.
