In his first scheduled ten-round bout, hometown favorite Alexandre Gaumont (13-0, 9 KOs) suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of seasoned veteran Ramadan Hiseni (21-2-2, 8 KOs), who emerged victorious via unanimous decision (96-93 on all three scorecards).

Despite holding a clear speed advantage, Gaumont struggled to impose his rhythm against the experienced Swiss fighter. Hiseni made excellent use of his ring savvy, finishing and opening rounds strongly to sway the judges. He also relied heavily on clinching and inside fighting, landing short, compact combinations in close quarters.

The turning point came in the ninth round, when Gaumont was sent to the canvas by a crushing right hand from Hiseni.

It was not the result Gaumont was hoping for. He will now have to return to the drawing board and find a way to reignite his career following this heartbreaking loss, one that temporarily slows his climb toward the world rankings.

Khataev Dominates Deines

True to form, Imam Khataev (11-1, 10 KOs) bulldozed his way to victory, stopping German veteran Adam Deines (24-4-1, 14 KOs) by referee stoppage in the third round. Deines hit the canvas in the opening round and was dropped again in the third following a vicious body shot from Khataev.

This emphatic win over the experienced Deines should propel Khataev back into a major international bout, especially considering his strong showing against David Morrell last July—a performance that helped solidify his reputation on the global stage.

Lepage-Joanisse Returns to Winning Ways

In her first outing since her loss to undisputed champion Claressa Shields, former heavyweight world champion Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse (8-2, 2 KOs) bounced back in impressive fashion. The Quebec native dominated American Sonya Dreiling (7-10, 2 KOs), earning a unanimous decision victory (80-70 on all three scorecards) after flooring her opponent three times.

Now campaigning at super middleweight, it will be intriguing to see whether Lepage-Joanisse can work her way toward another world title opportunity.
