After confirming the main event of its Revolution 2 gala on January 31 at La Tohu—featuring Shakeel Phinn against Facundo Nicolas Galovar—Canada Fighting Club has now finalized the semi-final matchup. This co-feature will showcase the IBF's #12 super-lightweight contender, Mathieu "G-Time" Germain (25-2-1, 10 KOs), in an eight-round bout.
Germain, currently negotiating for a major international fight, aims to stay active while awaiting confirmation of this high-profile matchup.
Facing him in the opposite corner will be Mexican fighter Jorge Amaya Diaz (7-5, 3 KOs), now based in British Columbia. Known for his durability, Diaz has gone the distance with Marc Smither, the current Canadian super-lightweight champion, and promising unbeaten American Jonathan Lopez. He arrives at La Tohu with the intent to challenge Germain and deliver competitive rounds.
In addition to the main bouts, Revolution 2 will also highlight emerging talent in Quebec boxing, including Stephane Fondjo (13-1, 9 KOs), Alex Perron (1-0, 0 KOs), Blaze Sylvestre (1-1, 0 KOs), Stéphane Barthelemy (pro debut), Yoan Trottier (0-1, 0 KOs), Winner Bondo (2-0, 0 KOs), Simon Risler (1-0-1, 0 KOs), Marcy Chery (0-1, 0 KOs), Sara Couillard (1-1, 0 KOs), and Sophie Le Grand (pro debut).
In the meantime, follow Canada Fighting’s social media and blog for the latest news on professional boxing locally and beyond. Tickets for Revolution 2 are available through La Tohu’s box office.
