Canada Fighting Club announced today the undercard for the WBA Gold Championship bout between Jessica Camara (13-4, 3 KOs) and Bonnie Hunter (5-3, 3 KOs) on September 14 at La Tohu. The undercard promises exactly what fans want: a mix of international and local boxing bouts.

In the co-main event of the evening, current IBF number 8 contender Mathieu Germain (24-2-1, 9 KOs) will return to the ring for a 10-round fight. "G-Time" aims to continue his winning streak, which start with a victory over Steve Claggett, as he waits for a call for a major international bout.

In a match that’s unlikely to go the distance, two Canadian heavyweights, Jaye Byard (7-4, 7 KOs) and Shane Upshaw (2-2-4, 1 KO), will face off in an 8-round duel. For Byard, this will be an opportunity to secure his second KO victory in Quebec after stopping Tom Vautour in the first round in October 2023. For Nova Scotia native Upshaw, this will be his fourth visit to Quebec, where he notably knocked out Jan-Michael Poulin in 2015 in Repentigny.

September 14 will also mark the return to the ring for Jean-Gardy François (4-0-1, 3 KOs), who will face Frédéric Thomas (1-1, 0 KOs) in a 6-round fight. François might be one of the most underrated boxers in Quebec and will have a chance to prove it on September 14.

Continuing to be one of the most active boxers in the province, Theo Owusu (4-0-1, 2 KOs) will take on Mexican Luis May (22-18-1, 8 KOs) in a 6-round bout. Owusu impressed earlier this year with a unanimous decision win over local opponent Zacharie Loiseau. This fight will give Owusu the opportunity to go rounds against a tough boxer known for his resilience.

Sammy Morisset (making his pro debut) will have the chance to fight his first professional bout at La Tohu against Obed Sepulveda (0-2-1, 0 KOs) in a 4-round clash. Sepulveda went the distance with Winner Bondo in his last outing.

Three local 4-round bouts are also scheduled for this event. Blaze Sylvestre (1-0, 0 KOs) will face Alex Perron (making his pro debut), Reid Twohey (2-0, 0 KOs) will go up against Marcy Cherry (making his pro debut), and in the women's division, Maxime Turcotte Novosedlik (1-0, 0 KOs) will take on former Canadian amateur champion Natali Fagan (making her pro debut). It's worth noting that Twohey and Cherry have faced each other twice in the amateur ranks.
