Local boxing at Bain Mathieu

A professional boxing gala featuring local pugilists will be presented by the Canada Fighting Club group on December 14 at Bain Mathieu in Montreal.
In the final of the evening, the adopted Montrealer Edwing Davila (19-2, 11 KO) will face the tough Mexican Pablo Polanco Fernandez (10-12, 3 KO) in a face-to-face scheduled for eight attacks.
Middleweights Jan Michael Poulin (8-1-3, 2 KOs) and Derek Pomerleau (6-0, 4 KOs), lightweights Mohamed Soumaoro (13-2, 6 KOs) and Zacharie Loiseau (2-0-1, 1 KO), bantamweight Mathilde Barailler (0-1-1, 0 KO) and super featherweight Maxime Lepage (0-1-1, 0 KO) will be in action against rivals to be determined.
Rising Bare Knuckle star Jade Masson Wong and amateur boxer Yannick Wilcott will also make their professional boxing debut on this card.
Basran headlines Vancouver
A pro-am boxing gala put on by Reign Boxing Promotions will take place Friday in Vancouver. Three professional shocks will be presented for the occasion.
Lightweight Eric Basran (4-0, 1 KO) will pay the price in the final against Mexican Juan Jose Lopez Alcarez (3-6-3, 0 KO) in a six-round duel. Super bantamweight River Tucker (2-1-1, 1 KO) will face Mexican Fatima Martinez Cuevas (2-4, 0 KO), while Logan Clouthier (1-0, 1 KO) will lace up the gloves against Mexican Pablo Lara Sanchez (2-6, 1 KO).
Aubin-Mercier in the hunt for its second million
Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Olivier Aubin Mercier (20-5) will attempt to win a second Professional Fighters League (PFL) championship and at the same time, his second purse of one million US dollars this Friday, in Washington.
In the lightweight final (155 lbs) of the 2023 edition of the annual PFL tournament, he will face tough American “Cassius” Clay Collard (24-10).
Note that the PFL announced at the beginning of the week the purchase of the Bellator group with the aim of competing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
