Huge card in Saudi Arabia this Saturday

By Vincent Morin

Another high-profile boxing card will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this Saturday.

Top Rank, Matchroom Boxing, Salita Promotions, Wasserman, SES Sports Events and Queensberry Promotions are co-promoters of this gala which will feature eight major clashes.

The final of the evening will pit British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KO) against Swede Otto Wallin (26-1, 14 KO).

In the main support fight, American power puncher Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) will face New Zealander Joseph Parker (33-3, 23 KOs). The latter defeated Quebecer Simon Kean during his last outing, on October 28 in Riyadh.

WBA light heavyweight world champion Dmitrii Bivol (21-0, 11 KO) will put his title on the line against Briton and IBO minor title champion Lyndon Arthur (23-1, 16 KO). The winner of this duel could face the winner of the clash between Artur Beterbiev and Callum Smith, in 2024, for a unification of all the 175 lbs belts, according to several news sites.

The Australian Jai Opetaia (23-0, 18 KO), IBF light heavyweight world champion (200 lbs), will cross gloves with the Briton Ellis Zorro (17-0, 7 KO), while the British heavyweight Daniel Dubois (19-2, 18 KO) will fight American colossus Jarrell Miller (26-0-1, 22 KO).

Adopted Montrealer Arslanbek Makhmudov (18-0, 17 KO) will also be in action and will try to maintain his immaculate record against the German Agit Kabayel (23-0, 15 KO).

Still in heavyweight, the Cuban Frank Sanchez (23-0, 16 KO) and the New Zealander Junior Fa (20-2, 11 KO) will face each other, while the curtain raiser will be the Croatian Filip Hrgovic (16-0, 13 KO) will have as a rival the Australian Mark De Mori (41-2-2, 36 KO).
