Guerrero Steals the Show, Wins First Title in Montreal
In his first fight for a regional title, Christopher “Machine Gun” Guerrero (14-0, 8 KOs) stole the spotlight in the co-main event of Eye of the Tiger’s gala at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal. Facing Mexico’s Oliver Quintana (22-4, 16 KOs), Guerrero delivered the most thrilling performance of the night. After knocking down his opponent three times, the Montreal native captured the WBC Continental Americas welterweight title with a dominant unanimous decision victory (99-88, 98-89 x 2).
Mary Spencer Retains WBA Title
In her first defense of the WBA super welterweight title, Mary Spencer (10-2, 6 KOs) took on Ogleidis Suarez (31-6-1, 15 KOs), a familiar face to Quebec boxing fans after previously facing Marie-Ève Dicaire. Relying on an active jab and a much more technical style than usual, Spencer controlled the fight from start to finish, earning a clean sweep on the judges’ scorecards (100-90 x 3).
Spencer also showed remarkable toughness, revealing after the bout that she had fought with a fractured right hand suffered several weeks prior.
Asanau Shines in Main Event
The main event featured one of Eye of the Tiger’s top rising stars, Dzmitry Asanau (10-0, 4 KOs), taking on former European lightweight champion Francesco Patera (30-6, 11 KOs). Asanau overwhelmed his experienced opponent with high-volume output and sharp combinations, cruising to a unanimous decision win (100-90 x 2, 98-92).
Other Results from the Night:
-
Jhon Orobio (13-0, 11 KOs) defeated Sebastien Ezequiel Aguirre (19-7, 12 KOs) by unanimous decision (80-71 x 3).
-
Alexandre Gaumont (13-0, 9 KOs) stopped Mathis Lourenco (13-6-3, 6 KOs) by TKO in the fourth round.
-
Moreno Fendero (10-0, 8 KOs) knocked out Mykola Vovk (15-7, 9 KOs) in round two.

Erik Israyelyan (1-0, 1 KO) made a successful pro debut with a first-round TKO over Richard Bernath (0-2, 0 KOs).
The major disappointment of the evening came with the cancellation of Wyatt Sanford’s long-awaited pro debut. The Canadian Olympic medalist was expected to make his first appearance in the ring but was sidelined at the last minute. Eye of the Tiger plans to get him back in action quickly, possibly overseas, to ensure he remains active and racks up as many bouts as possible in 2025.
