Sara Couillard in the land of Uncle Sam

Sara Couillard in the land of Uncle Sam

Montrealer Sara Couillard hasn't fought in two years, but she will have the opportunity to remedy the situation and demonstrate her talents in Uncle Sam's country on June 28. The boxer managed by Martin Germain and Ludovic Louis will face American Alexis Bolduc at the Royale Nightclub in Boston, Massachusetts.

This nightclub is a popular place where many pugilists including Keyshawn Davis, Abraham Nova and Rashidi Ellis have been able to lace up their gloves. This club was previously, before its closure in 2005, known as Roxy. Former IBF super middleweight world champion Lucian Bute fought there in 2004.

After a successful amateur career punctuated by three appearances at the Canadian championship, Couillard (0-1, 0 KO) made the decision to turn professional on June 2, 2022, at the Montreal Casino, on a card of the Yvon Michel Group (GYM) .

She then escaped a decision against Mexican kickboxing champion Flor Carrera Hernandez (2-0-1) in a bantamweight (118 lb) clash.

As for Bolduc (1-0), an American native of New Hampshire, she recently won the Central New England Novice Golden Gloves (Central New England Golden Gloves) at 119 pounds, before winning his first professional fight.

On February 16 in Melrose, Massachusetts, she defeated Ohio mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Chelsea LaGrasse (0-1, 0 KO) by unanimous decision.

The Couillard-Bolduc face-to-face will be contested in four two-minute rounds, among the super bantamweights (115 lbs).
