This Friday, live from the Great Canadian Resort in Toronto, Most Valuable Promotions, the promotion company founded by YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, presented the 11th edition of its "Most Valuable Prospects" series. This event also marked the organization’s first-ever show on Canadian soil.
Tammara Thibeault Scores Her First Career Knockout
Tammara Thibeault (2-0, 1 KO) stepped into the ring for her first professional fight in Canada, facing off against American fighter Sonya Dreiling (6-7, 2 KOs).
From the opening round of the scheduled six-round bout, Thibeault dictated the pace with an impressive jab-straight combination, landing clean and accurate shots. After dropping her opponent to the canvas for the first time, the Quebec native closed the show with a powerful straight left hand followed by a lead hook. The referee immediately stepped in to stop the fight, awarding Thibeault her first career knockout victory.
With Most Valuable Promotions backing her, Thibeault's career trajectory appears highly promising. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her featured on the undercard of the much-anticipated trilogy bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, organized by Jake Paul's promotion.
Lucas Bahdi Triumphs in Front of His Home Crowd
In the evening's main event, Niagara Falls native Lucas Bahdi (19-0, 15 KOs) faced undefeated Filipino contender Ryan James Racaza (15-1, 11 KOs). Racaza proved to be a tough challenge, absorbing a high volume of power punches from Bahdi throughout the fight. Despite his resilience, Racaza eventually hit the canvas, and Bahdi went on to secure a unanimous decision victory with scores of 99-90, 96-93, and 97-92. Bahdi thus preserved his undefeated record.
Sara Bailey Retains Her World Title
WBA light flyweight champion Sara Bailey (6-0, 0 KOs) was also in action, defending her title against Spain’s Cristina Navarro (6-3, 1 KO). Bailey controlled the fight from start to finish with an effective jab and relentless bodywork. The judges scored the bout a unanimous decision in Bailey’s favor (99-91 x3), reaffirming her status as the top female boxer in Canada.
